Term 1 2015/16: This term we plan to learn about new techniques in Rationality problems. We will start from the book "Rational and Nearly Rational Varieties" (Kollar-Corti-Smith), with the aim of understanding the new degeneration techniques by Voisin et al. (Scroll down the page for some references)

We meet Tuesday 13-14pm in B1.01.

In the second Term we are following (the lecture notes of Brendan Hassett "Cubic fourfolds, K3 surfaces, and rationality questions", available on the arXiv (http://arxiv.org/abs/1601.05501) The schedule is only a rough guide as to what we expect to discuss each week.
