Yvonne Kapp’s two-volume biography of Karl’s youngest daughter, Eleanor Marx, is a classic biography in its own right giving a vivid picture of the Marx household. Franz Mehring: Karl Marx: The story of his life (1918) is the classic biography, but it is not a light read!
