1) Will there be solutions available for the assignments at some point?

2) Some of the proofs in the lecture notes are much shorter and different to those used in lectures.  Can we use the proofs in the lecture notes in the exam?  Does book cover everything that is examinable?

Lecture - 

1) A couple of weeks ago you made a passing comment that S^2 was 2-dimensional, but S^2 is not a vector space, so we cannot use our normal definition of dimension.  What definition of dimension were you using when you said this?
