Postdoctoral Opportunities

Nonlinear Filtering in High Dimensions

A postdoctoral position is available for 12 months, starting October 1st 2012, in the area of Nonlinear Filtering in High Dimensions. You will join a research group in the area of Bayesian Inverse Problems in Differential Equations, led by Andrew Stuart of the Warwick Mathematics Institute. The work is supported by ONR. You will receive support for computing resources and conference travel and may have at most a light teaching load. You will also be expected to interact with the research group of Professor Chris Jones (University of North Carolina) in which there may be the possibility of further postdoctoral work in this area, starting October 2013.

You will have experience and strong research potential in a number of the following research areas: nonlinear partial differential equations, inverse problems, stochastic differential equations, data assimilation, Bayesian statistics and MCMC methods. You will have strengths in either analysis or computational mathematics.
