Is there much in common, appart from the visual simmilarity, between a tree trunk pattern and the Jovian atmosphere?
This question can only be answered after we understand if there exist common fundamental properties inherent to both of these systems.
For turbulent systems, such a fundamental common property does exist, - it is the cascade of a conserved quantity through scales.
