2/3 - Banbury Star Hardriders Time Trial
Seriously hard work! 23 miles with Sunrising hill at mile 20. Personally me and Mark I felt sick as we were working so hard!!! Paul on the other hand stormed it, coming in a stunning 3rd place.

A bit of a learning experience here. With a winning time of 56:17, there are some pretty fast people about.
Anna got some good pics from the race (sadly they haven't scanned
so well).
Paul look mean and fast..... Mark
not enjoying Sunrising hill......Mark's
butt finally reaches the top......MiniMark
and Mark looking like pros during the
warmup!!!!
"I must work harder".."I must work harder".."I must work harder".."I must work harder".................
The Rowers did indeed have their revenge. There are a lot of big strong guys out there. MORE info......

Well the Triathletes prove multi-talented, or at least some of them did, by taking too 4 wheels, and racing round the track. Not sure is Schumacher is going to be worried though.
A close fought race saw Fiona & Marcus beat Kendo & Angus by 2.365sec after 1 hr of racing. Great to watch, great to take part. Thanks to Will for organising it.

6 / 4 - Wombourne Sprint Tri. 400m - 20km - 5km
The first Triathlon of the season saw, Warwick put out a team
of 4, who did us proud in weather that was a bit cold and windy! Will, Mark
J, Marcus and Andrea got the ball rolling - and hopefully more to come.
Looks like Mini Mark and Marcus have some close racing to come this year,
and we'll be working hard to catch Will.

27/4 - Stratford Full and 1/2 Marathon
The rain eased off for us and the sun even came out for the run. It was a good course and 2600 people came out to play! Kendo led the way doing the full, but Will and Sarah did superb times for PB's, Mark's legs hurt!

12/5 - Southwell
Well Mr.T got the racing off to a flying start, for a second year running. Mark and brother Peter placed well, Mark getting the edge this time
| Swim | Cycle | Run | Total -Place | |
| Mark T | 8:21 (71st) | 30:47 (28th) | 19:56 (48th) | 59:03 (33rd) |
We put out a huge team for this race - 9 ENTRIES, which is not bad out of a field of 200. Which was just great, especially as the weather held (compared to torrential hail stones last year). Mr.T led us home with a storming 15th place, Peter 'Duracell Bunny' did a great first race (although was seen running the wrong way with his bike in transition!!!!), MiniMark and Tim raced head-to-head all day to finish with the same time! and Anna improved over 8mins on last years. Ali, Rich and Delph all raced well - particularly Delph who was beset with mechanical problems during the bike - but still clocked a good split. Even I had a good race, proving that a 50km bike ride to the start can be a usefull warm up.

1/6 - Stratford Sprint
Another week and even more people racing this weekend. A huge
race, over 1000 people racing, and the weather held. Also a bit of a old Tri
club gathering with 4 or 5 old club members (including Paul and Sue Faithfull))
being seen for the first time in years.
Kendo led the team home - showing that Ironmen do it faster! Sarah (on loan
form Oxford Tri) 9th woman and first in her age group.
Too many others to mention, and so many close finishes - cheick out the results
- 500m swim - 20km cycle - 5km run.

Swanswell Tri - Olympic - 27th July
Lucy flying the club colours again today. Sounds like a good
race, Lucy says:
"i enjoyed swarkeston tri from start to finish, and loved the bike leg,
which was slightly long, as i was able to cruise on the aerobars for the whole
ride, averaging 31km/h - a lot better for me than anything i did last year.
the lake was really still, and the course well marked. the run went up 2 big
hills, but at least it was out and back so the last 5km was a lot easier than
the first" - 2nd fastest bike split can't be bad.

Northampton Classic - 10th Aug
Sprint and Olympic
Roasting hot day - although the afternoons thunder storm was
a stunning dispay.
Open water swim - fast bike and run course, a good day at the office.
Quote of the Day was definately from Will - 'Do Olympic races always hurt like this?' The answer is of course 'YES!'
Anna and Chris in the Sprint race. Will taught Mark how to run in the Olympic race Delph finished her first Olympic in fine form.

Lucy and The Flying Townsends look to have had another good
race. Unfortunately Peter T got a puncture and pulled out - I suspect he will
be back!
Speedy racing all round - 5th place from Lucy getting close to the podium
again.

Faringdon Tri - 7th Sept - 800m:50km:8.5km
Lucy hits the podium again with a storming bike ride.
Along with Lucy, Will and Stuart were also having a interesting time racing
each other - just don't mention the traffic lights!
Personally I'm impressed with Will's transition -must have been the only time he got changed quickly!!!!

Still Lucy stormed away, coming in a a stunning 4th and qualifiying for Madeira 2004 World Champs. - FANTASTIC.
Bala is fun - honest! I got cramp on the swim a few years ago. Water is cold, the waves must have been 6ft (honest).
