Code of Conduct
General
When using University facilities, all members must abide by the rules and regulations as set down by the Physical Education Department.
- Members should only train within their abilities and levels of fitness, taking care to warm-up adequately prior to participation and warm-down when finished.
- When cycling or running members must obey the rules of the public highways.
Affiliations
The club is affiliated to British Triathlon Association (B.T.A.).
Coaching
- All swimming sessions are taken by a recognised (Amateur Swimming Association) qualified (Swimming Teachers Certificate 1995 version) coach.
- All other sessions are recognised by a B.T.A. qualified (Triathlon level 1) coach.
Equipment
- When cycling all members must use a (fastened) helmet.
- When cycling and running members should wear reflective clothing during evening and night sessions.
Pool Awareness
- All members should be aware of the other pool users, who may be in distress or whose actions may cause risk to the member. In cases please report the incident to the life guard on duty.
- Members should be aware that surfaces in the facilities are likely to be wet and slippery and should therefore take care.
- Members should only dive in those areas that are designated safe to dive in.
First Aid
- First Aid kits are provided for club use.
- Members are encouraged to take the Basic First Aid course run by the Sports Federation.
- Any injuries or incidents whether at training or during events must be reported to the Sports Federation Office by filling in an Accident/Incident Report Form.
