Mr.T gets off the racing season first. Along with brother Pete (Loughborough Students, so we wont mention him). Still the flying Townsends looked good.

Springfield - 6th May. Corsham near Bath.

Rough weather for Helen, but the weather eased and the racers did us proud: Helen, Lucy, Romana and Olivier. Helen's dad Pat gets an honory membership.
FANTASTIC. First race for Lucy and Romana. Lucy takes 1st junior female and 4th female overall!
AND gets a mention in 220.

Stratford - 12th May. Tri expo 1000 people racing!

Finally some good weather. 'Red Mist' Ian leads the Team home - but less than 2 minutes between everyone!
Ken returns from his world tour for his first Tri - not bad for a man on the worlds oldest bike. Lucy gets into 220 for the second month tunning.

Overall position are in brackets.

Northampton Sprint - 26th May. Duston.

Here comes the rain - and the wind - and the hail. This has to be one of the worse days I have ever raced. Anna had ice on her kit in transition when she started the bike! I didn't stop shivering for about 1/2hr aftre. I will NEVER race in this weather again!

Still a number of hardy souls raced, almost 200 fools! Mr.T still looking fast, Flis gets a mention as a honory membership, Anna and Mark suffered a bit.

The highlight was definately when one of the female competitors shouted to me as I passed her 'Nice bum'.

Ellesemere - 9th June.

Its a great race. Sadly the weather was very bad - serious soul searching before the start wether to race or not.
Still the Team was Mean - Roy lead us home with a fantastic time, Lucy's looked good in her first Olympic and was 5th in her age group. Angus and Mark sensibly wore gortex while racing (except for the swim of course, as this was the only warm section!).

I have generally just put the times and over positions here as the are some many catagories it gets a bit muddled.

  1500m 40km 10km Total / (ovrl)
Roy 25:44 1:07:03 39:05 2:11:52(101 / 29)

Angus 32:22 1:23:30 56:04 2:51:56

Brecon - 9th June

Romana raced this one on her own. Pretty much Olympic distance with some major hills - maximun respect. I don't have the time break down as yet but 2:27 overall suggests that 'welshie' is getting rather fast.

Mansfield Sprint - 16th June.

The Flying Townsends once again. Mark and Peter looking good. True Peter is from loughborough but we'll be good generous. Looks like the guys made 220.

Market Bosworth - open water sprint, 23rd June

Just Mark and Anna racing this one. A celebration of Mark 21st birthday (honest). The weather was almost decent today - amazing. And Jodie Swallow only beat me by 5 mins.

And a very nice chap let us play with is model boat.

The Bambuster Tri - Rutland 7th July.

Roy, Mr.T and Lucy doing the first Bambuster Tri. Doing pretty well as well. So far this year people have been going well and today was no exception.

It appears that the timers got it slightly wrong today. Roy finished ahead of Mr.T, but the results show otherwise. It looks like Mark's run is a bit wrong - 34mins is about the fastest of the day! The results are pretty good -although the swim looked a bit long.

IS it still a holiday when you have to do a Triathlon in it? A good question. Anyway Jason put in an impressive performance in a race where even the transition was hilly.

Northampton Classic - 14th July

Now this is Triathlon weather. Glorious sunshine, not much wind. I love it. Although truth is the 2nd lap of the 10km run was getting a bit hot! First running of this race, which I suspect will become a regular

Lucy, Anna, Roy and Mark racing today. Anna doing the Sprint distance the rest of us doing the Olympic. Nice course - the cycle was flat, but 46km long - a few burned out cars adorned the run and swim routes, although the 7series BMW under the swim start was invisible!

Things to note. Lucy was 4th lady today. Looks like she could make 220 results section for the 3rd month running!!!
Impressive. Also the time difference is coming down with each race. Personally I'm getting worried.

Hereford Sprint - 14th July

FANTASTIC. Mr.T getting 3rd place in a competitive race and another mention in 220. There appears to be a competition on between Mr.T and Lucy for who can get into 220 the most the year. Mana looking good and getting plenty of money for charity.

- 21st and 22nd July -

Market Bosworth - Olympic

The racing is hotting up! Which is more than the weather - Transition was hit by a terrible storm, thunder / lightning / terrible rain and hail stones before the start!!!!!!
The racing was good though. All of us going fast today, but with 27sec between Mr.T and Roy the next few races should be fun.

National Relay Champs - 10th Aug.

What a fantastic day. The rain stopped and there were loads of teams. Great display as the cycles flew past at each lap.
The Team did well - Mark P, Romana, Lucy and Mark T - and it was pretty hard work.

Water up at Nottingham was a bit smelly!!!!!!!!! The results are including all the teams -

Llanberis 1/2 Ironman -

FANTASTIC. Jason did a great race at Llanberis this year. Not bad for only his 3rd Triathlon!
The conditions were not exactly perfect; rain, wind, wolves, orcs etc.
For reason known only to Jason he raced as Team Rodrigez!!!!!! Very strange

Looks like the folks had some pretty fierce hill on this one, hard work especially on Ken's ancient bike. Didn't seem to slow them down much as Lucy stormed to 3rd Lady and Roy 5th Man - looks like another mention in 220 next month!! Awesome.
