Title: Birational constructions of automorphisms of affine 3-folds

Abstract: It is an open question whether the complement of a smooth cubic in P^3 admits any non-linear automorphism. I would like to discuss some work in progress with Jérémy Blanc related to this problem. This will also be a pretext to discuss some material and examples from the Sarkisov program; namely its limitations for tackling affine problems and its usefulness in producing explicit examples.
