Title: Divisors on tropical varieties
Abstract: Tropical geometry is a collection of techniques for
studying algebraic geometry via the combinatorial properties of their
degenerations. I will begin by reviewing the case of tropical curves,
i.e. graphs, and the definitions of divisor, rank, and linear
equivalence on a graph. Then I will present some preliminary work on
generalizations to divisors on simplicial complexes, which play the
role of higher dimensional tropical varieties.
